Teach your students how to observe and direct their thoughts, so they can develop helpful, positive self-talk that helps them succeed in school.
Through this NO-PREP five lesson unit, students will explore the following “I can” statements:
- I can think about my thinking.
- I can watch my thoughts like I watch a movie.
- I can be the director of my thoughts.
- I can choose positive thoughts.
- I can choose thoughts that keep me calm and focused.
Included for the 5 mini-lessons are:
- A teacher’s guide (1 page per lesson) with clear objectives and teacher-friendly instructions, including the key ideas you'll be teaching.
- An editable slideshow presentation to guide you and your students through each lesson, so teaching the concepts and introducing activities to students is super simple. Just follow the prompts on each slide in PowerPoint! 60+ slides are included, all with professionally designed graphics.
- A 5 page student self-reflection journal to help students reflect, practice, and apply what they’ve learned. The format is designed to minimize printing and paper use with no filler, fluff, or half blank pages.
- Brain Fact Peek-and-Learn Board includes 5 engaging “facts of the day” to spark curiosity.
- 5 Morning Work / Warm-Ups which are short, independent activities to get students thinking. Provided as a one-page PDF and as slides for quick prep.
- 5 No-Prep & Low-Prep Center Activities that are fun and meaningful. Stations/centers are formatted as task cards (2 per slide/page). Perfect for reinforcing key concepts in small groups or independent work!
